You can also skip the installation of DVB snoop and the full automatic scan when using ABM. When using Open TV on CrossEPG, you don't need to update Rytec or Xepgdb providers - should save you 20 mins or so :)

Sorry I did not know that you could skip DVB snoop.

I was struggling to find the information to set the box up like sky (Wife friendly) and could not find a guide to do what I wanted. All channels in the correct order and same feel as sky.

All is working perfect now with the way I set things up and I was just trying to help other people from struggling like I did:o:o:o:o:o

I use built-in AutoBouquetMaker along with OpenTV via CrossEPG which automatically sets up bouquets and epg all from the same sources as Sky use, rather than internet sources.

As pointed above, there are a few areas of improvements/corrections required. Please feel free to amend as appropriate.

Personally I am totally befuddled at users who buy a e2 based receiver, often spending several hundred pounds then try to make it into a sky lookalike. If you want a sky box get a flaming sky box for Pete sake.

I think you are confusing functionality with usability - a lot of people like Sky's usability but feel it's functionality falls short. I think it's perfectly valid to want a Sky look and feel with the extended functionality of of an Enigma2 box, it gives you the best of both worlds!

Please update first post. Thank you to the forum members who offered advice.

I don't want a flaming sky box, I was just trying to get it setup similar to sky to keep the wife happy. I will be motorising my 1.2m dish and hopefully adding Netflix when this is stable. I am trying to do an all in one box. Just to clarify.

I once thought like you, "keep the wife happy", but she actually now prefers it to our sky box.

Sent by pressing the screen on 1 of my Apple devices, cuz that's how I roll..

Unless the numbers being printed next to the chanenl name are a must, you can also use AutoBouquetsMaker. It completes in roughly half the time of AB 28.2.

Thank you, The channel numbers are a must for the wife, this is what she likes. I am slowly trying to convert her, but alas I have to take baby steps or buy some very good ear plugs.

Just one thing that I have been stuck with is How do you turn off the narrator permanently. Then things will be perfect.

Happy wife happy life :):)
