Power cut, knackered box! Help please

Wasn't sure where to post this! We had a power outage, only for about 10 minutes but when our VU duo box came on a message onscreen said 'your receiver encountered a software problem and needs to be restarted' But i can't get into the menu to restart!!!!! Any suggestions please?

Unplug the box at the wall and leave it for a few mins..

Then plug it back in again and should boot up fine..

ftp into the box and grab the crashlog from /home/root/logs if you havent changed this location.

Often with a power outage the supply doesn't come back on cleanly, there may have been a on/off/on/off/on sequence which has crashed your box. Turn off at the mains again see if a complete cold boot cures the problem.

Thanks I tried but it hasn't worked �� I'm a total novice rossi2000 and I'm embarrassed to say I dunno what that means!

Ftp is using something like Filezila to connect to your box.

Try to restart your ccamm if you have one

I would try and install the image from usb if it still wont boot up

I can't get onto restart anything, it won't let me go onto menu! Ah my brother but filezilla on my laptop, maybe he can remotely do it. Thanks, will try.
