kodidirect and vpn

I use Kodi on my pc with a paid vpn. Is it advisable to also use the kodidirect plugin with a vpn also? I don't want to add kodidirect just yet as I don't think I could set up Openvpn on my box (TM Nano SE). It all looks very complicated.

BTW I use Kodi mainly for the Genesis addon.

it not as complicated as is sounds. if you purchase the vpn, you should be given the files that you need to make sure that is works on the box. just make sure the vpn works on linux

I reckon this is a plugin I'm going to have to miss out on. I just can't get the hang of installing my vpn's server files and all the other stuff to make Openvpn work on my box :(
