I just installed two TT3L10 DVB T2 internal plugin tuners (dual T2) to my Duo2. Fantastic result. So at the moment my Duo2 has 4xT2 internal plus 2x Sundtek T2 usb tuners.
Totally 6xT2 tuners. No problem with Hades 010. I hope you can have these tuners also in UK from your sponsor.

It seems to be the same thing with this tuner as it was earlier when VU+ had ssh108 C/T2 tuner. I was forced to mail one to andyblac because that was not available in the UK. So do I have to do it again with this tuner?

At about 70 pounds with postage, unlikely to be cheaper?

Yes now I'm sat on my throne letting the stresses of work drain away that thought had occurred to me.

Ordered from Finland now, it's not that I disagree with shipping charges but over 18 euros for a small box... If I ever order anything from sundtek it's only about 6 euros and it turns up really quick, and a few weeks ago I ordered a DVDO iScan mini via Amazon USA and got free international shipping.

Well hm-sat is 89 + 5 for postage ... so it probably works out the same, but as outfits go I have used them and they have been good on support. (:) - I must have lived here too long ... pushing German companies)

When I attempted to order off HM sat the only option it gave me to the UK was 11 euros.

Looks like stock of these won't be available in the UK until after the ANGA show, so probably around mid-end of June.

Finally received my tuner from Finland (not quite sure how 4 working days turned into 10 normal days?) and I'm made up with it, only requires 1 input for both tuners so I have been able to take my powered splitter out of the run, tested with frequencys I know can cause problems and both tuners run fine side by side. the duo2 is back.

Is this tuner different from the one supplied as standard in the Duo2?

DaMacFunkin
12-06-15, 12:59
Yes, it is a Dual Cable or dual ariel tuner, the previous tuner was only a single, or maybe you mean the dual satellite tuner in which case it is totally different.

Got my DUAL T2 today, to replace my Single T2 tuner :)
So I now have
Vu+ Duo 2 with 4gb internal HD, DUAL S2, DUAL T2 = 4 Tuners... of course you can still record more than one channel on each of them at once (in most cases)

mine came from a uk based sat shop, it was £75
however, i have noticed today that i get less signal strength on tuner C than on tuner D... and the weaker channels that i can get fine with the lead that goes direct to my Freeview HD TV, i cant get with tuner C and Tuner D the signal comes and goes (even with the same lead plugged in)...

when reverting back to a single tuner T2 (the samsung tuner) i get no such issues

anyone else noticed the same?

cant be that dual is creating so much insertion loss? surely not... :(

maybe im unlucky and may have a bad batch, in which case its going back to the shop for a replacement

Further to my last post, i wouldnt buy from the company i did... they dont have email support, the password reset option sends you a password which still wont let you in, and when you call they just pick up the phone and put it down... clearly they dont know how to do business... ive not been able to speak to anyone, online or on the phone, and cant email... jokers!

Well, if you don't tell us which shop it is, it's hard to avoid them....

Does the tuner actually tune to the channels, or is there really no stable signal ?

Just wondering if it's a tuner issue, or if it's a driver issue giving a false signal reading.

Rob van der Does

Good thinking; would indeed not be the first tuner that gives false readings.

DaMacFunkin

I have this tuner but use it in dvb-c mode and it is brilliant, one feed gives very good signal to both tuners, maybe your tuner is faulty?

tvtv
17-07-15, 19:58
I sort of did mention which shop... but if you are exact it just comes out as stars... (not w.o.s)
finally got through and going to arrange to replace it...

i dont think its a software issue, personally...

I tried both tuners on their own, by disabling one in the menu, to be sure which one i was hitting...
both get a signal, but one has worse signal than the other, and even the best out of the two isnt as good as the single T2 tuner i had before for weaker channels...

I have checked that both have the 5v deselected (as i dont have an active antenna)
I have checked that its correctly sited so that all pins are snug into the vu+ board
I ran a new search just to make sure

its 0% SNR, and 0% AGC for tuner1 using weak channel [baytv liverpool]
if i switch tuner1 off, turn on tuner2 and tune back onto the channel i get SNR 0% and AGC jumps between 0% and 37% which means the picture is badly breaking up.
(SNR 99% and AGC 77% on BBC Four)
Switching back to the samsung tuner, no problems, SNR 50% and AGC 50% for baytv... and SNR is 99% on the BBC channels

I also have one of these tuners installed in my Vu+ Duo2. I've not had any issues with it either. I didn't need to update drivers, it worked straight away.
