View Full Version : Best box question (sorry)

I originally purchased an Openbox but quickly realised it was rubbish and purchased VU solo2 (very happy) Gave the Openbox to my son in law, who now also realises it's rubbish. (swaps between that and BT box)

Although I would recommend the same box as I have, he does not have the funds. So, looking for an inexpensive box with the following requirements - single tuner (may consider twin) - no HDD required - uses E2/vix - HD.

Basically, a box that will replace the Openbox but with a bit more functionality such as an EPG that works and be able to skin it like mine (conflouence with MK picons).

Bear in mind my knowledge is limited, although this site has taught me a lot in the last couple of months.

Any recommendations appreciated.

I'd consider spending a little extra, look at the ET7500 https://github.com/oe-alliance/oe-alliance-core/commit/77342f442b3b309ea22ad74631dcfe1f21333bde

You'll have future upgrade options of adding another tuner and internal HDD is ever required, also has a nice VFD.

Depends on budget ... ET7500 at 149 pounds is a super, simple box that does what it says and will take an harddisk and a plugable tuner to provide additional features .... Or the cheaper ET7000 ..... Oops besten to it! But I agree!
