For some reason 4:3 broadcast channels are shown in a weird scale on my TV. I've disabled overscan on the TV, and made the 4:3 option to "Just scale" but it scales it width wise and not height wise, so i end up getting a picture that looks like its letterboxed.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

That is what 'just scale' is supposed to do.
I think you want to use the option 'Pan & Scan'.

The channels clearly have letterbox on them which shouldn't be the case, content that was produced in 16:9 is being outputted in 4:9, which the box is then showcasing in letterbox.
