This is only possible if you use Pli on your box.
Furthermore, an USB stick, CF card or internal HDD is recommended for the epg database. It is not impossible to store the databse on a network drive but extremely difficult.

Thanks mate i will try that i use open pli 1.0 will report back my findings as its annoying not having it on the box

Cheers mate installed but whenb I click on packahes radiotimes UK disappears afterb few seconds and XMLTV UK does not download anything?

Clicking on green does save your choices, but this is not very clear.

In order to find out what is wrong. Could you pls. run a manual import in telnet. (DCC is fine)

Open telnet and type in:

e1_Uk.sh [ENTER]

pls. copy the output and post it here.

I did that it comes back -sh: e1_Uk.sh not found

Did you install this:

and try again but cd first to /var/bin

I have a EPG but BBC1, 2 ITV, C4 5 SKY 1 - 3 do not have EPG. I have tried to map channels but it just freezes the box.

stan i'm having trouble here give me a step by step please with this

Download the above file and DCC it to the TMP directory and than manula install.
Blue button and download the SQLite plugin via blue button.
when done yellow button and source is UK XMLTV and than yellow to retrieve, you wont get a progress bar but it takes about 10 - 15 minutes.
Once done than check by pressing red and than menu will give you an EPG

PS thats an abbreviated guide - I followed the instructions posted by Rytec.

I told you the install sequence the wrong way, first SQlite and than the rytec package.

I have followed the steps to a t and i still cant get any EPG to show up it downloads for ages then when i press red i get a very broken epg sometimes there sometimes not and very blotchy

what am i doing wrong

It is possible that you have an image with a broken importer.
The attached importer worked on my enigma1 machine up to moment I retired this machine.

rename the file db_epg in usr/bin to something else, and copy the attached file to this location (after unzipping). Try again.

Secondly, you will have to map channels. f.i. BBC1 has several different entries, all linked to the same epg. But only one can be used in enigma1. It would be very lucky if the correct one was preassigned in your case.

Yellow button SQLITE plugin and than blue button - when I tried it always froze my box. Let me know how you get on with the above file. Playing with the SOLO at the moment before I hand it over to my nephew.

Works for me apart from the mapping of channels which greezes the box, so no FTA BBC1, 2 ITV, C4 and Five

No mate i did every thin g statted by you and rytec and still real blotchy and bad epg

i have since now given my dm7020 to my dad and replaced it with a solo

my dad never had epg on the dm518 so he wont mind not having it on the dm7020

although i got my picons working on it
