Exactly the same problem here on a GigaBlue Quad Plus running Hades 007 - fresh install.

The hang issue was there on an earlier version of Apollo but got resolved some time ago.

Uploading a log file is the best option not via the box.

Maybe related to the error I reported on my miraclebox.

http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?45036-Memory-Leak

I haven't seen the problem again since in the EPG settings menu I turned off " Automatic refresh" and "Automatic Save".

Hi
I have not had any issues with my Gigablue Quad Plus. I updated with all the Hades releases, now on 008. All apart from the first was a couch update, and all apart from the first imported settings.

I'll update tomorrow, download a clean version and set it up from scratch, what skin are you using, also is time shift ok

Hi
Just couch updated GBQ+ to version 009 with no issues. I use the default skin, and no other plug ins. Having said that, my box failed to wake up and record the Andrew Marr show today. This is an ongoing issue and this happened with pre Hades versions too (from time to time).

casuk
17-05-15, 14:35
I have all set up from scratch again same problem, updated to 09 and its still the same, I restart screen go's black with your GBQ+ is rebooting I get a spinner for 1s then disappears and just sits in that screen until I turn it of,

I decided to set up my Quad plus again and i had the same issue and vix spinners i even tried Telnet commands to reboot, it stopped the spinner but then locked up again and had to turn it off at the back
i have updated to 009 and it seems better but i have not fully tried it out as i did not get to bed till 7am trying to fix it

casuk
17-05-15, 15:01
Iv not disconnected HDD and tryed it that way yet but thats not the problem its a bug in the image, iv enabled debugs but nothing there or crash logs, I'll run the image for the rest of the day and test it out, the image is running fine so far bar the box unable to complete the roboot process

casuk
17-05-15, 15:38

Nothing wrong with Hades 009 on my GB Quad Plus as regards restarting. Goes into deep standby when requested and comes out of deep standby with remote. I also have a Power Timer to wake it up each morning at 06.00 and then it runs ABM and CrossEPG. Maybe your bootloader is out of date? The bootloader was updated last July to cater for bigger partition sizes and new requirements for changes in the underlying OE core. You could try flashing the bootloader http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php?dir=Bootloaders/GiGaBlue-Bootloaders/GiGaBlue-QUAD%20PLUS/ followed by a clean flash of Hades 009.

casuk
18-05-15, 13:01
I flashed bootloader a week or two ago done a clean install of apollo 166 and was ok, ill flash bootloader again later, iv just put open atv in it and all is running fine no problems at all, i think it could be my usb

Joe_90
18-05-15, 13:59
If you've already flashed the newer bootloader, there is no point in flashing it again. No point in risking bricking the box. When you say you think it could be your usb, do you mean the stick you're flashing from? In which case I definitely wouldn't be flashing bootloaders from it!

I flashed bootloader then hades 09, restarted and it booted up no problems I put mgcamed in and the files in and no rebbot I took the files and unistalled mgcamed and its not rebooting,

I am having the same problem with my Quad plus tony if i do a GUI restart it reboots ok but if i do a normal restart it just stops and will not reboot until you switch it off at the back, i have just tried rebooting it with a Telnet command and it rebooted as normal, then tried pressing restart and it is now stuck on a blank screen and the TV saying no signal so i am going to have to switch it of at the back to get it to reboot running the latest Hades 009 update

casuk
18-05-15, 16:17
after a lot off messing about all day in fact, I now know it is mgcamed that will not allow the box to reboot, I have used mgcamed 1.35a and 1.38 both doing the same if I disable startup and stop the cam it boots if I start cam and activate cam at start up and restart it will not boot, i also tryed with just cccam and no mgcamed and it done the same thing

Unless anyone can post boot logs not a lot can be done, in all honesty sounds like a possible driver issue.

How do you post boot logs, its the cam being active thats causing it

Use Putty
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html

Setup Putty for RS232, leave it running.

1) Power on Quad+
2) Ensure MGcamd is set to autostart and reboot.

Please grab a complete log, from power on and through the reboot after enabling MGcamd to autostart.

Are you using MGcamd?

There was a driver update on 1st May https://github.com/oe-alliance/oe-alliance-core/commit/247263e963b6f592bfe981cdb23263e15e0683b5

Please can someone try Hades 004, flashed and setup fresh http://www.openvix.co.uk/index.php?dir=GiGaBlue-HD-QUAD-PLUS/

Anyone using MGcamd may need to switch to another softcam like Oscam.

dermies

Yes, 1.38 but I think the restart issue was there before installing it.

Cccam causes the same problem ill flash 04 just now and set it up from scratch

casuk

outrage_uk

I've attached serial logs.

The Load is while it turns on, the Restart is after ive told it to restart if you couldn't work it out :p

Sicilian

I've just logs myself too and reported to engineers.

I suggest you guys revert to build 004 for now.

20-05-15, 18:19
I have been building my own PC's for 20 years and the one cable that i have never used or even purchased is a RS232 cable

just in the middle of installing 004 on the Quad +

Sicilian
20-05-15, 18:25
Build 004 should be fine, it has older drivers.

Sicilian
20-05-15, 18:25

NO!! You have to stay on build 004 or you will have same issue again!

nsw9154
20-05-15, 18:56
It will be the best thing to just use 004 until the Driver issue is sorted as Hades will still work fine, i remember when the LX3 had Driver problems and it was sorted in about 10 builds
but saying that Gigablue took ages to sort out the temperature glitch that was down to bad drivers so do not hold your breath
I was put of buying a Quad + for 12 month because i thought that you could fry eggs on it as it got that hot but that was down to Drivers again and nothing to do with the vix image

casuk
20-05-15, 20:14
Ok ill stay put just now then

Sicilian
20-05-15, 20:17
Oscam should be fine on 010.

noticed an update waiting on my boxes last night, did the updates and my quad went through the updates and rebooted itself :)

unfortunately, my quad plus box still had to be powered down manually to complete the process

You need to stick with Hades 004 until Gigablue releases a fix for it. Out of our hands unfortunately.

My Gigablue Quad froze a couple of times over the last few nights, Seemed to be when recording 2 HD programmes while watching a third.
Fixed with power off and on.
Running Hades 004 but thinking of restoring Apollo 154 which had no issues for me.

Debug logs attached.43110
