16e problems ?

i am on usals and have the right long and lat in, i cant seem to scan tring into my box, anyone have any ideas please, thanks

WHat size dish you got and where are you.
I'm getting tring fine, on a 80ish dish in essex with 50%

Have you tried nuging the dish from the menu?

Setup
Service Searching
Positioner Set-Up
Position Fine Movement
And then seeing if the signal improves?

i did do that and it worked, then, but shouldnt have to do that all the time, should i ?

No try adjusting your settings slightly.
I had to adjust mine slighty to get the best results, I don't think they take things into account like your altitude.

Just make sure they still work on the other sats too.

Hmmm... What signal reading do you get (from the vu box) on 16e for tring?

On Tring Comedy, I'm getting 67%. Then, I go to Pink Family, and I get 45%.

Also, what do you get on 28.2? On BBC1 E Mids, I only get 81%... Yet the whole arc I get fairly good signals etc. So not sure how you're managing 99% What about other people?

BTW, as you can see, I'm in Midlands, with an 85cm dish...

16e has always been a satellite which is a hit and miss for a lot of people.

Usals is a great tool providing your dish is fitted 100% in respect to alignment. I spent days trying to get 16e when my dish was not fitted accurately and not matter what I got some channels and not others.

Also keep in mind that you most likely will get better signal during the day than you would at night on sats such as 16e.

i have just got a new Penta 85 Dish fitted with twin inverto black ultra lnb and TM 2600 motor, location Stockport.

im just going through the scanning now on the vu duo and cant seem to find 15.8E, can get the other ones like 13e, 19.2, 28.2e, 1W etc just this one is is not appearing at all.

im going to try the "positioner fine movement" feature but before i do i wanted to ask if this will effect my other channels? or will it adjust the movement for 15.8E only?

using USALs with correct long/lat

Double check that your Bouquets are set for 15.8 as is your transponder file. I have had problems before where the transponder file (satellites.xml) reads 15.8 but the Bouquets are set up as 16.0 and just edited the satellites.xml to 16.0.
Then again you might need a 1m dish where you are.
