Hi Guys,

I'm after some ideas on what Sat receiver to get with a £150 budget (can go up)

I would like something with the SLY plus HD look skin and as close to the sly experience (planner, PIP etc)

Also would like to record one and watch one so looking at twin tuner with HD capability

Can you please recommend me some models to research on?

Thank you

You'll struggle for £150 mate. I would recommend either a Vu+ Solo2 receiver >> http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/Digital-Satellite-Receivers/Vu/VU-Solo-2-Solo2-Twin-Tuner-DVB-S2-HD-Enigma2-Linux-Satellite-Receiver
or an Xtrend ET8000 receiver >> http://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/Digital-Satellite-Receivers/Xtrend-Linux-HD-Receivers/Xtrend-ET8000-2x-DVB-S2

Thanks Andy, I've looked into the VU Solo 2 and read good reviews. Not heard much on the Xtrend however

The Vu+ Solo2 is a great receiver, you will love it if you decided to go for one. And having the ViX image on it will give you all the features you are after and more. [emoji106]🏼

Xtrend has massive support around Europe and been around nearly as long as vu. Et8000 better spec than solo2. Just as fast, supports 2.5 & 3.5" hdd, can have up to 3 plug and play tuners. Solo 2 only has 2x fixed tuners. Et8000 much more versatile.

For a Muilt-tuner setup the Mutand HD2400, ET8000, ET8500 and ET100000 are more versatile. OpenViX should also be release for the ET8500 very soon, we just need to test that the 4:3 LCD panel is working correctly with OpenViX.

yea I was thinking that the et 10000 would be more versatile as my main box and my current box as a secondary box in the bed room or another room

I have had openvix (2.3) running on my ET8500's for some time.... Just needed mainly the 720 skin support inserting and a few other tweaks to support LCD power on/off and the dual framebuffer support ( most of which is now in the openvix code.)
There are some nice skins now for the 720 LCD display available on the Web.
Also with the multi-boot you need to look at couch update ...... Currently only updates the first of the 2 boot options. :) which may be a Xtrend issue.
