Hi Guys
Been working on a new skin and just skinned the Infobar, SecondInfobar and GraphicalInfoBarEPG screens so far.
Still obviously a long way off but thought id show it here first.
Cool, I look forward to seeing the finished skin. It's always nice to see your work and there can never be enough skins LOL.
How about this for the main menu, ive put the hades logo in the corner with the clock etc.
I would like other infomation in the left hand corner like the ip address etc but tried several widgets borrowed from other screens but none appeared to work.

that wont happen though as not all boxes are 1080p skin capable.
Really wasnt happy with the previous menu i did so came up with this, hope you like.

Well at the rate I'm going it would be finished by Xmas haha, but maybe I could release something as a mod for rossi's skin, as i cant see me skinning every screen but just the basics.

On a euro theme tonight new screen grabs of the Timeshiftstate screen using a colored wheel similar to sky+.
Would have liked to have had the color trapzoids blink like the record button as ive talked about in this thread (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?45891-Can-i-make-a-pixmap-png-flash-on-and-off-(blink)-like-the-record-icon-does).

The one thing in not looking forward to is skinning all those menu settings screens which there appears to be a ton of them, looking a rossi's 1080 skin which currently I'm using as a template he uses a panel template for all these menu settings etc.

yes markus, ive templated most of the menu screens, you can adjust the templates to suit your new skin and it should all fall into place.
What do you guys recon of the settings screen ive come up with, still work in progress but wanted it to sit in nicely with the other screens like the infobar.

Yeh thinking it may need to be wider, the Blue box is just a color contrast in the menu and it probably won't stay.
Is it not possible to get the text on both sides padded like 10px etc, can't we use templatemulticontent like we do in a list box.

the item height seems overly big aswell :)
only way i can think of right away is to make the list box smaller inside that bit, so it has the appearance of padding.
Have to have a rethink on the settings screen, but would like it similar to this new menu screen im working on.

depending if you were going to use buttons on the infobar, you could lose that empty space underneath where the clock is and move the clock to the top right of the infobar.
btw i re-made some new pcm, 16:9 icons etc in bello/confluence, if you want to use those.

I will use the space for buttons once ive decided which ones and positioning .
Ive tried moving the menu to the left hand side which should give me more room for the other setting screens etc.

Been complicating what to do with the menu and all those settings for quite a while.
Below is a couple of screen grabs of the menu and the softcam manager screens, what i have done with this one screen is to take a screen grab of the menu and add that to the screen, obviously I would have to do this with every screen that would need it but could be quite easy with a template.

Yes thought that was the case, im going to use screen grabs from the side menu and use that on some screens to give the illusion of keeping the main menu open.

Well I think best course of action here is to get those settings windows done in the templates etc and I can always add the left menu screengrabs later on if i want.

Guys working on a concept for the EpgSelection screen, ive noticed in the menu you can only select minimum of 12 rows.
Now the idea im working on I would like less than 12 rows etc, ive tried adding ' NumberOfRows="6" ' to the list widget as this works with the graphicalepg screens to force the number of rows so we dont get users asking why there list appears squashed etc, but this has no effect.
Any help would be appreciated.
Guys having changed the NUmberOfRows in the UsageConfig.py from 12 to 3 thanks to RobVanDoes cheers mate, Ive manager to come up with this mod for the singleEpg with 5 rows.
Note looks great with MK 400x240 UK (SNP) picons as a fanart/background

erm not sure, trying to do something totally different and more inline to a kodi xbmc experience.
Heres a idea for the Channel selection screen, does anybody know a way to code the next and third event name without the leading Next: and Later: so i could just use my own, unless it was coded that way for translation.

Is it possible to change the foreground color of the service in the list for the channel selection the only options i can see are below.

What I thought would be available would be something like foregroundColorServiceSelected etc etc.
Its because im using a yellow selectionPixmap and a grey backgroundPixmap so its white when not selected and I want it to be black for example when selected as at the moment its still white and cant be seen correctly on the yellow background.
Any idea's or if there's a full list of what can be used.

It appears the only way of doing this is in the global skin.xml with the <color name="ListboxSelectedForeground" color="" /> we need to change this so it can be changed locally as changing globally will also change the color of every other list.

Actually just came up with a workaround for this that works.
1: In the ServiceList.py add the following code to line 85
def foregroundColorServiceSelected(value):
self.l.setColor(eListboxServiceContent.serviceNotA vail, parseColor(value))
2: Remove this line from the skin.xml
<color name="ListboxSelectedForeground" color="#ffffff" />
3: for the ChannelSelection screen add this code to the list.

4: You will need to add the following code below to list's or configs to change the selected color.

Surely deleting the <color name="ListboxSelectedForeground" color="#ffffff" /> from the skin.xml is up to the skin author and wouldnt effect other skins as we can use the following code below to change the foreground color, thats if we add the above py code.

I have done some templates for some of the menu items and slowly getting through the numerous screens, will look into releasing a test build in a month or two, there's not enough time in the week what with work etc.
Guys just to let you know im still working on this skin in my spare time as dont get much hours to myself nowadays 10 hour days at work grrr.
So working on some screens every weekend etc at the moment im working on the menu/setup screens which is abit mind numbing even with templates.

Just for anyone who came across the same problem as me, below you can see ive solved the problem.
In the TimerEntry screen etc use the command below

For the 2ndInfoBar guys i would like the Cam Status information like seen in the screen (CCcamInfoServerMenu) ie when the cam is online its icon is green or a red icon for offline.
I know you can print out the cam cline etc with the below.
<convert type="CryptoInfo">VerboseInfo</convert></widget>
is there any other cam info i can use.

Having to decide what i can have in the 2ndinfobar, maybe CryptoInfo.
Ive only designed this for single sat feeds so maybe FrontendInfo A,B,C,D etc etc.
Dont want it too overcrowded.

Excellent work with this skin. Downloaded from Feeds following a successful image update. Loving the new look for a new year.
Tried this.
The movie listing doesn't work for me - all of the entries are squished on top of one another.
Also, there is no visual indicator in any of the menus that there are entries beyond those shown, while in several (all?) of the menus there is a lot of vertical space around the options that are shown (meaning you can't see all options when it would make sense for you to be able to do so - the Main menu being one for me (I have 7 entries here).

OK so how do I that? Not sure if that's going to make any difference, I only have 8 which should be fine

OK didn't think we would have a screen for subs thought this would have been user configurable, will try and add when I have time, weekend probably.
Subtitle has been fixed now and committed to github.

Have this been fixed, i find it really annoying. It's occurs in alot of plugin menus. It's a black bar covering the text on the selected item..

Yeh ive updated the skin_halo.xml file on github, you just need to download that file and overwrite the original in the halo folder.

Can't test this myself as I don't have any oscam shares.

After replacing old file with this one my receiver wont start. Just hangs on bootscreen. Filesize of new file is around 900kb while the old one was around 100kb?
You can go into xmltvimporter and press blue button (Sources) to see the error.

Not too sure what's happening there, I would suggest downloading the entire halo folder and copying over, as i said before I don't have oscam so can't test but I use the latest updates my self and I don't get any boot crashes.
