Hi all

I have a vu solo2 and a vu zero, I have a sky dish with dual connections into solo2 and single into zero. Recently I stopped getting a signal to my zero and called the aerial fitter back who put the single line in. He went up to dish yesterday and said that there was no issue with the lnb , he was getting no signal at the house end. I watched him out of the window and he changed the connector on the end of the cable and put it back into the other spare lnb. He didn't see me watching him, he came back in and told me that there were 3 spiders in behind the lnb which shows it wasn't something to do with his installation and so it was a chargeable service. The signal came back and everything was good again, ABM working and so was EPG downloading. Watched TV downstairs later on without any issues but about 2 hours later all of sudden the picture started to breakup, the only way I could get this to stop was to disconnect the cable on my zero. Later on I put the TV on to watch in bed (zero), no issues at all yet this morning turned zero on via remote and no signal again and the picture on the solo2 is breaking up all the time until I disconnect the cable into my zero.

Does anyone have any ideas what my issue is and any idea how to solve it please?

Many thanks..

Imo sounds like lnb needs replacing.

That was one of the things I was considering, do you know if this is usual behaviour for a bad lnb

Sky quad LNB's can be dodgy with Vu+ boxes, I changed both my quad LNB's out for sky octo LNB's a few years ago and have never had a issue.

Thanks guys, I was just looking at the octo versions on eBay. Phoenix would you recommend any certain brand or just the sky one?

Lol that was the auto correct on this damn iPad, it's a octo LNB as in octagon for 8 feeds.

I use the Sky octo also, you will usually find them branded as zinwell.

I installed a brand new Sky Quad LNB two years ago. Never had any problems with it.

And it was far better than the ancient Sky single LNB that was on the mini-dish before.
