tune fail on certain channels

Hi, I am encountering an unusual problem on my vu zero and on two tm nano-oe's that I am setting up for my mates. I'm getting a tune fail on sky sports1,3 and 5 and some other channels but if I do a rescan they come back. My solo2 is working perfectly but a guy I work with has a solo2 and his is doing the same thing. My zero is running build 147 as is my solo and both are set up the same. Any ideas?

Hi People

I am experiencing the same thing on my Technomate Nano Se, it all started after i did a over the net upgrade, then certain channels showed tune failed, then i rescanned and they came back, now after flicking some channels just come up with a black screen, even though they were working seconds earlier, then i need to unplug and restart the box and they come back.

Is there an issue with the latest software ?????

Any advice would be appreciated

i am getting same problem on my vu solo2 so do we need to alter something in the ABM then tanks

you can set your ABM to download at 4am and set it to download daily and keep it on simple mode. this will download automatically and keep everything updated

NO - sky change the signal or FEC banding to different frequencies. ABM updates this, therefore we dont need to do outt. unless there is a issue with ABM, but my solo2 seems fine.

I had to do an automatic sat scan as ABM didnt fix the problem

ive done 2 sat scans which solves it but it does same thing again a couple of days later

so this sounds like a firmware problem rather than a hardware problem with so many people experiencing it including myself..........what was the latest stable version of vix before these problems anyone know? cheers

i have a tm nano se and noticed tune failed omg not used to this:D reran abm scan and worked :confused:strange as it did not work for others.

There is an issue as my first post suggests, my solo 2 is working fine but my zero is showing tune fail as is my parents duo running an early apollo image and several of my mates using different boxes and different versions of a vix image.

I noticed this today aswell, tried to run an abm scan but it kept on failing. Had to do a full automatic scan. I just hope the channels stay working :D

I have no issues with sky sports on my solo2, using the latest build 166 which was a usb flash with no restore of settings.

i did a scan on my solo 2 fixed the problem but lost my regional hd channels like bbc hd scotland

Is the follwoing decuction correct? If not please add more details.

You had no other bouquets other than the ones created by ABM
You used ABM and it has removed the channel that was in the bouquet, the one it it had created before (bbc hd scotland)?

I am running Vix 166 on a solo2 and have the issue with channels missing. When I do a scan says Timeout for tuner lock . When I check sat finder I am getting SNR 80% on both tunners. I have deleted all bouets and did a scan but get the same error.

this has started to happen to me today, yesterday it was fine, on my solo2 and zero. if i run ABM there back on. all setting are correct. i have my region set to SD and i use Ireland set to daily download. this has never happened before till know. no crash logs available. just tuner fail. a full ABM scan fixes the issue.

When you set up your tuner, did you select "automatic"
Post the tuner config values from your settings file please.
Did you have any other bouquets on your system?
How did you delete your bouquets?

For those that are having issues with tune failure on certain channels (seems sky sports), could you post whether you have latest image (currently 166) and whether this was a clean usb flash with no restore of settings (or not) and post logs?

As I said earlier, my solo2 is showing sky sports fine today (I couldn't comment about yesterday after it's daily update as I didn't watch sports). This is Vix 166 clean usb install with no restore of settings and using ABM which purely for 28.2.

I have Sky Sports 1 as being on transponder 12109/H/27500 QPSK-5/6.

1. its the Zoom or Sky UK (SD)
2. Yes (Using FreeSat (UK), Republic of Ireland HD and Sky UK (SD))

Well according to that log ABM never completes because the receiver fails to get tuner lock on tuner B on 12207 V 27500 2/3. Check transponder/tuner with satfinder.

For now, disable freesat from your providers. Enable not indexed in the ABM options.

What are you on about? ABM will obtain the data directly from the satellite.

The Feesat xml had to be changed because they are moving some channels to the satellite with a smaller footprint.

I've added the xml file and Done an ABM scan but I still don't have sky sports channels (apart from sky sports 5). Therefore the fix doesn't seem to work for me.

It does however work if I just disable free sat from my providers and rescan

if you dont use abm and are having this problem try going into db edit or dreamset.
upload your channel list from stb. find the channels your not receiving and go into edit mode.
you can manually change the fec values in there. for channels your talking about fec values have changed from 2/3 to 5/6
