Hi upgraded from 24 to the latest build and was able to make a backup and an image backup but having trouble now.The only way which only works sometimes is to switch the box off at the mains and reboot, following this I was able to make the settings backup but unable to make an image backup.
Had the same issue under 24 but was fine after the reflash, now running 161 any ideas please.
Error comes up as timed out on the screen.

Did you perform an update or did you flash new image?

Flashed new image everything new as if a brand new box.

Please forgive me, I am not understanding the issue properly. Settings backup is different from image backup. Process of restoration of image using USB is also slightly different from restoring through image manager.

Can you rephrase? Please be as specific as possible. What storage device etc. Attaching debug logs will also assist in resolving issue.

Hi if I go into vix in settings and perform either a manual image backup or Settings backup to keep, so if need be I can relash with a memory stick it fails and reports time out error on screen after about 10 mins.
USB Storage is Western Digital

Let us deal with creting an image back alone or now.

You are using an external HDD? What is it mounted as?
Have you got any other storage devices attached? If so what is it mounted as?

Blue > Vix > Image Manager > Menu
What does it show as the backup location? Does it tally with where you want to create the backup?

Hi everything ties up location etc, ext3, seems to create two folders on hdd (temp/apollo) once complte does not seem to create the .zipextension.

I hoped for answers of what they were rather than confirmation of "everything is OK". Assumptions and guesswork is not ideal. File system does not matter IIRC, fat32 should also be fine.

Anyway, enable debug logs (restart is required for this to take effect). Repeat process and then upload debug logs. This should show error/issue.

/home/root/logs/
Just to re-iterate. You must restart the receiver after enabling the debug logs.

Can I change title of thread to "Unable to create image or settings backup"?

Thanks that's fine, once done where will I find the logs to post on the forum?

FTP to /home/root/logs/ Save logs to PC then attach the logs to this thread.

I cannot see a backup being attempted in that log.

Is that the only log you have after attempting to back up (after you enabled debug logs)?

Hi ran command in telnet attached file shows results, also ran image backup afterwards to show screen error and it worked no error!! very strange, normally reaches about 18% as the attached picture then gives the error timed out.

Yesterday I done a fresh flash and setup of a MB Mini, had no issue taking settings backup to USB.
