xtrend et 10000 remote change

So i reveived my et 10000 box today and flashed openvix. Now because i am so use to the vu solo2 remote, i wanted to use this.
So i went to the system settings > Input devices> Configure remote control type. I selected Vu+. But for some reason i still can not use my Vu solo2 remote.
It is strange because when i had the mut@nt for a brief time, i managed to change it and it worked straight away. It is a genuine solo2 remote.
Any idea why it is not working? It is not that the xtrend remote is bad. I just am soo used to the vu remote and i am sure there is a way to get it to work.

Ok this is really strange. I borrowed my brothers vu duo remote and his one worked on my xtrend. I fail to understand why my one does not work. Is it under some strange configuration ?

If the Duo remote works but the Solo2 remote doesn't, you probably just need to change the remote code.

Press and hold 2 & 7 until the TV button turns red.
Press the help button.
Then try 0001 or 0002 or 0003 or 0004.

I think the Duo is 0001 & Solo2 0002.

thats the strangest thing. I have tried all the codes. I do not know what configuration the vu duo remote is it but i cannot get it to work with my solo2 remote

If an original Duo remote works on your xtrend box & you want to use a Solo2 remote on the same box, I'd try setting the Solo2 remote as 0001 first.
