Tuning Issues

Hello Guys

Ok, I have an Ultimo and a newer Duo connected to the same dish.

They each scan the same channels.

Two examples of the problem are:


Tuning to BT Sport 1 HD

Ultimo: No

Duo: Yes

Setanta Sport 1

Ultimo: No

Duo: Yes

Both channels are scanned and found by both boxes.

Setanta Sport 1 has two incidences on each box.

Again, the Duo will connect to both; the Ultimo will not connect to either.

Apart from the obvious fact that the tuners are different, is anyone able to suggest another reason that the Ultimo will not connect to certain channels in spite of scanning them in?

It's possible that the Ultimo may have slightly weaker tuners and the dish is not setup to maximize it ???. Thats just a totally wild guess though as my own Ultimo has worked perfectly for years with three DVB-S/S2 tuners on a zone 2 sky mini dish with a sky octo LNB and hits all the channels just fine.

I have Tuner A: Vuplus DVB-S NIM(AVL2108) (DVB-S2) Single

Tuner B: Vuplus DVB-S NIM(AVL2108) (DVB-S2) Loop through to Tuner A


I usually do an Automatic Scan:

Network scan: no

Clear before scan: yes

Scan Tuner A (DVB-S2): yes


The dish is a communal dish with 2 feeds into my flat.

I use them for each of the boxes.
