Red light / orange remote light

Have a bit of an issue. Mum was using the box it froze did the standard thing of restart, now it won't boot.

It is stuck on red led, the hard drive spins up, and when you press buttons on the remote, the led goes orange.

Just wanT to confirm if I have the red light of death and if there are other things I can try.

Try flashing a fresh image on it.
