That seller is wrong in his description of the receiver, if you read further down it states.

System GigaBlue HD Quad Plus

No issues here with my GB Quad (none plus model), all three models will serve you well.

I have a Quad and it's been great. The quad plus has a nice big LCD as a bonus.

How is transcoding on the quad tho?
Is it hardware transcoding?

Software I think, whereas the Duo2 is hardware.

7356 CPU is software based transcoding.
7424 CPU is hardware based transcoding.

What exactly is the difference between them tho?

I meant what does software transcoding mean. Why is hardware transcoding better.? What is the difference in the way it transcodes for both.
I thought it was clear that is what I meant by the asking the difference. I'll make sure I make it more clear when asking next time
Thanks
