install other satellites?

how do i search for other satellites other than the default 28e. it doesn't seem to have any other satellites listed as id hoped

give us some more info what setup to you have

your likely using a bouquet pack with a satelites.xml file that only includes 28.2 east.
you will need to download a upto date satellites.xml file and copy it to your box. then you should be ok to scan for other satellites.

you can get a new file from here.

be sure to include all the satellites that you want to receive.

awsome thanks pheonix. i am actually using a bouqet too that does only have 28.2e. one thing someone can help me on though, if i did download a new satellites-xml.eu 1) where do i put it via ftp (using vix 1.3) and 2) the current bouqet i have for 28.2e i like and would like to keep but is there a way of copying it over and saving it on the new bouqet?

oh and also if i installed the new full satellites.xml, will i have to scan for each satellite in order to get the channels or will they already be scanned onto the box?

the new file would go into

/etc/tuxbox/
as for the channels them selves. yes you would have to do a rescan to take full advantage of the file.
but do a reboot first so that the new satellites.xml file takes hold properly.
