Hi Guys

Had an Xtrend ET9000 for years now and never used it. Want to set the thing up properly and make use of it. Have 2 LNBs on the static dish. Is there any decent documentation around to help me get the most out of it?

Have found the VIX image and will apply that shortly, reading through this forum, I don't anticipate any issues with this. But what next? I have no idea what a bouquet is, the guide button does nothing and pressing the i button shows the worst EPG in the known universe. All of this is not an issue as I've seen screen shots of it looking good, just need a few pointers on how to get there. I'm in the UK, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Jim

Thanks, will be useful if the kit ever actually works again. It seems to be stuck on Loading Please Wait... and has been for the last 20 mins. Will give it another 5 mins, then power cycle it and pray I have an OS on it!

Because your trying to load a recent image to such a old unused receiver you will first have to update the bootloader to the latest version. You can get the bootloader from www.openvix.co.uk in the bootloaders section.

Yup, worked that out eventually, now have a receiver that boots up to the OpenVix screen. Progress :-) Unfortunately, I suspect I have followed an old guide and downloaded a bunch of file supposed to get my epg working and now it's a bit messed up. The epg is empty and when I try to exit it, enigma reboots. Any ideas where I could get a bunch of files suitable for the UK Astra 28E?

Thanks for the help!

To setup CrossEPG go to menu, setup, system, EPG, CrossEPG, configure. Set schedule download to 'once a day' n schedule download at 4:15am n then green button to save. Then OpenTV providers n select Sky UK OpenTV n green button to save. Exit one n go into settings, set EPG location to either HDD or USB, DO NOT SET TO INTERNAL FLASH unless it has plenty of internal flash, (like a Vu+ Duo2 or Mut@nt HD2400 to name a couple) n then green button to save. Exit all the way out back to tv picture, n press blue button n then click on CrossEPG Downloader. This will populate your 7 day tv guide and cos you have set the schedule to run at 4:15am every morning will keep up to date for ya.

Only need Cross on 28E for subscription channels. Otherwise just watching a BBC, ITV channek for 10 minutes will result in 7 days EPG being populated.
