Hi,
Anyone got any recommendations for a e2 second digital receiver for bedroom? It's just for watching so only one tuner needed.

Thanks in advance !

The Vu+ Zero and TM Nano SE both retail at around the £100 mark, both single tuner boxes without a display so perfect for a bedroom environment.

Also I have an old vu duo and vu solo, would it be easier to buy a dvbsky usb tuner to plug into one of these rather than buying a new receiver for cable?

Thanks in advance

Sorry I'm not in a cable area so don't really know enough to be able to recommend a receiver / USB tuner for your needs.

if you've got a Samsung smart TV in the bedroom with a decent network, you could always try my Smart TV app...

Just use your duo or solo with remotechannel stream converter plugin and wired connection to your router to stream all the channels from your main box

I havent got a samsung tv in bedroom but i will certainly give the remote stream channel convert a go. Can you watch different channels on each box. Do yuo need to download the plugin on each box?

Thanks for the replies

The client uses a free tuner from server receiver. So yes, you can watch independently subject to tuners.

Hi abu,
I've gave this a go and i can watch channels upstairs but I can't seem to be able to watch different channels from whats on downstairs unless its the same or on the same transponder. Is that the way this plug in works or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance

You've not said what you have downstairs and what tuners/cabling you have. This affects what other reciever can view.

I have a mutant hd 2400 with four tuners downstairs and a vu duo upstairs with two tuners both connected to the interent with homeplugs.

Thanks

Strange, working here. What have you got connected to the four tuners downstairs and what are they configured as?

Did you download all the bouquets?

tuner a = sky
tuner b = Diseqc a/b
tuner c = cable
tuner d = spare.

I have downloaded the bouquets on the vu duo. I then accessed favs and tried a few channels like i said before all channels work if I put the mutant into standby but unable to watch totally diffrent channels on both boxes when mutant is switched on, unless its the same channel or same transponder.

Thanks

That's your problem, you've no second/spare feed to be used.
Try setting D as loopthrough to which ever tuner you will use the most, should give you a few extra options.

Based on your setup

Mutant using tuner A = Client restricted to same TP on tuner A. Client can use any service on tuner B or C
Mutant using tuner B = Client restricted to same TP on tuner B. Client can use any service on tuner A or C
Mutant using tuner C = Client restricted to same TP on tuner C. Client can use any service on tuner A or B

Ideally, you want a diseqc setup of 28/19/13 on tuners A and B.
