ccam versions

gonna install softcam from openvix, solo2 box due monday so planning ahead.
The box is coming with vix image installed from wos
1)do I have to use certain build / version according to what openvix image arrives on the box ?
2)what is the best one to use
3)been scouring forums but is there as single page newbie set of instructions for setting up the vu+ solo2?
