Swap file is virtual RAM. It is beneficial to use on receivers with smaller amount of RAM.

If the question is "How do I setup a swap file?"

Answer is:
Have a storage device in ext file system
Blue > Vix > Swap Manager
Create a swap file if one is not there already.
Activate
Enable Autostart (this is so that it starts automtaically on restart)
Close

It will automatically set it to ext4 format when you setup a swap file using the usb stick.

It will automatically set it to ext4 format when you setup a swap file using the usb stick.
It does not do that. IIRC, you won't be able to create a swap file using the GUI if it is in fat32, although you can do it by command line.

Best to initialise(format) it using the receiver. This will erase all data on the flash drive and also ensure that the drive is in ext format
