View Full Version : How to apply 1080P skins?
None of the 1080P skins in the plugin downloads Skins1080P folder work for me on my Solo2 / VIX Apollo 118. I have 1080P selected in AV settings. I've tried multi/50hz/60hz but it makes no difference. My LG TV shows it is receiving a 1080P signal through the HDMI cable connected directly to the Solo2. I tried Just Scan and 16:9 but it makes no difference. I get a large empty box in the centre of the screen and the menus are shifted to the right. It's a mess. Is there anything else I have missed to set this up correctly?
Using 1080 skins here on a Solo2 without issue.
In AV settings, I only use 1080i though & Refresh rate = multi, maybe try that.
Thanks Judge, I've tried 1080i but that gives me the same result as 1080P :confused:

Did you activate a 1080p skin?
Menu > Setup > System > User interface > Skin setup
Yes, the 1080P skin is activated

Rossi, I've used your 1080 skins on multiple boxes over the holiday period, no issues besides VU slow buffer on boxes.
ET, TM, GB all working fine on various TV's. :confused:
I did have an issue when I first tried to use a 1080 skin on my VU+ Duo2.
Something wasn't right with the framebuffer stuff and the positions/sizing of the skin were really messed up...
after a reflash it was fine.
All your skins have worked fine on the Duo2 apart from the issues we have with Bello

That's exactly how my solo2, in fact all my receivers are setup without any issues using the 1080 skins.

Hi,
I had the same experience as pembo on my Duo2. When OpenViX changed to full HD skins I only did an update and 1080 skins where a mess. After backup, fresh flash and restore everything was fine.

vu have said there fixing something in drivers so maybe the new drivers might help for the random reports of the skins not working.
I've attached some screen prints of what I see when I use any of the 1080P skins.

I have a Solo2 & ET4000 both using 1080 skins without issue. Tested on various TVs...
Are you sure you're not using any settings from previous builds?

Thats is the "funny" thing ... I did a complete reflash of the et4000 without settings restore.
And on that box is the same thing like on the solo2 which one i didn't reflash ...
I'll wait, so long i can use the PLI Full HD Skin ... that one is not full compatible ;(

So it sounds like a USB flash won't solve the problem? I've been updating online and using settings downloaded from the plugins menu, transferring them into DBE and transferring them back to the Solo2 after changing the bouquets in DBE.

Different skins have different layouts with details in different places.
It is not a matter of correct or wrong, it is just how the skinner has made the skin.
I appreciate the skin may have been designed this way but does it look right to you in the screen print? It looks to me as if the positioning of the skin is shifted to the right and has reentered from the left of the screen. This surely isn't how it was designed to be viewed, is it? Could anyone who uses this skin please confirm if they see the same thing? Thanks

40009Did you do a full fresh usb flash to build 121 with no settings restore and after going through installation, can you try the 1080 skins, before doing any usual change of settings/setting up?
It's just really weird as I have Solo2 and I never had this problem of screen looking off like this. This is on several TV's

I'm hoping that a fresh/clean usb flash to build 121 with no settings restored and after the initial setup process install a 1080 skin (before other plugins and/or settings are set) will make a difference. If not, it at least narrows it down to one less thing that it can be.
No.Trace reported his problem has been solved with this build and it's new drivers. I personally, haven't got this problem on my solo2.
Trying to flash now. I'm not pleased. I cannot move past the first wizard page to select HDMI/SCART etc.... VIX won't respond to any selection from the remote. (I've checked the batteries). WFT? :mad:

It turned out that the remote code had somehow changed - identified by Abu - that was stopping me completing the set up. It got her moaning again about how many times I play with the receiver while she wants to watch some crap on the telly... :argue:

this problem I have also previously mentioned it was due to overscanning but no joy for me

No idea to be honest but if it does you will find them in the feeds, so it will be easy enough to find out when you setup
