I have been experiencing issues with my Duo and it appears to have finally given up the ghost through the night and is no longer starting....so I bought a Duo2 off the WOS store! :)

Looking forward to getting it and setting it up.

Is it still best to install the HDD on the original factory image and then flash to VIX?

Cheers

Image is installed to flash memory.

If your HDD is in ext format, there is no need to do anything to it. You can use on any image or receiver.
N.B: Initialise = Format. No need for this either.

So I can just take the old HDD out and plug it in the new one? Sweet.

That is correct.

You might want to repair your Duo. Otherwise put it in the classifieds.

I don't have the tools or skills for that really so it looks like I'll be selling it.

How much do receivers with a capacitor problem go for?

Just take your HDD out of duo and put it in duo2. Do NOT initialise or anything else.

Your recordings will be there.

May need to go into mount manager to set it up as HDD

I took my HDD out of my NBOX and installed it in Duo2 without any extra setup.
