Just tried to update my VU+Solo2 running VIX Apollo Build 037, and I get the message "a background update check is in progress"
I was wondering if the feeds were down.

Thanks as always.

Restarted the Router and the VU+Solo2, no change, still saying "a background update check is in progress"

Cheers.

Just read this reply from an old post by Robin van der Does.
http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?35590-Background-update-Check-is-in-progress

Delete all the files in "/var/lib/opkg/lists", reboot the box and try again.

Might this do the trick ?

In the "Software Update" Settings, there's an option to Turn Off the "Background Check"
Is this advisable ?

Thanks.

You need to blue button, ViX and use Image manager to get onto latest Apollo.

Thanks for that Andy, but I cant see what to do in there.
Is that not where my previous backups are saved ?

Cheers.

just found that out. When asking update nothing shows but coach flash is working perfect.Askes for full restore from earlyer versions and working fine.Only thing that's missing is the update log so we can see what changed in the new image.

PS : just found out that the box did a restore settings and that in info it shows apollo 54 !!!!

Sorry......Schoolboy error, I'm currently running 032......Does this change things ?

Managed to get onto 037 by following the instructions below.

But it still says "a background update check is in progress" when I try to update.

Blue button> ViX> Backup manager> green button (New backup)

Blue button> ViX> Image manager> yellow button (Downloads), Now press the green button to download the image you want, you will be perfectly fine to go directly to build 035. Once the download has completed go back to the image manager and use the blue button to restore the build you want to use. As the receiver reboots select yes to restore the settings backup you made earlier.

Can I do it this way ?

Download the latest VIX image from the feeds: openvix-Apollo.059-vusolo2_usb.zip
Place it in /media/hdd (on the box)
Then go back to the image manager and use the blue button to restore the build you want to use.......059 just downloaded...As the receiver reboots select yes to restore the settings backup you made earlier.

update on coach flashing is working but restore sets the box back to info apollo 54.Did a flash with a manual restore from settings and cccam and box stays on 59.

just saw you are still on 32.Thats probably the problem. You will need to do a full flash because off superchanges in the image and kernel.

Your current version is pointing at the older server, probably. You might try downloading from the ViX images tab in your browser and use a USB stick to flash the new image.

No, I'm on 037 now, I got it from the Image Manager, but that is the latest version I can see in there.

What about changing the "Software Update Settings"
From No to Yes
To:
Allow unstable (experimental) updates

Thanks.

You need to put the downloaded image in /hdd/imagebackups.
Then you can use the ImageManager to flash this image.

Build 037 had the now old server feeds and can not online update to the newest builds, you could use the image manager to download the current newest build from the server and couch flash that to the receiver using a settings backup from build 037 to restore plugins and settings.
