Chanel lists and EPG are two differnt things. Which of the two do you want to tackle in this thread?

Use CrossEPG and OpenTV as a provider so.
Menu -> Setup -> System -> EPG -> Settings -> EPG location, set to hdd or USB.
Menu -> Setup -> System -> EPG -> CrossEPG -> Configure -> Scheduled download, set to once a day.
Menu -> Setup -> System -> EPG -> CrossEPG -> OpenTV providers, select SKY UK.

If you have an internal HDD, use that.
No real need for a USB stick on a Solo2 with an internal HDD. Put picons on the flash & EPG on the HDD.

Rats picons are not on the feeds. Install his picon updater, you'll find it in the e2 plugins section of the forum.

You will have to create a picon folder on your system for it to work

No idea about rats, never used them.
Lots of picon packs in the plugin feeds & on the forum (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/forumdisplay.php?35-Picons).
I prefer ocram picons, have a look here (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?40962-ocram-picons&p=315460&viewfull=1#post315460).
