Hi

Even though the VIX icon is green on the website I keep getting the error 'Feeds down for maintenance', this is happening on 3 different boxes using the same build version.

Thanks
Sledge

Set to allow unstable updates, we've found the issue and fix will be next build.

You'll need to do a double update and ensure unstable updates are set to yes.

... and ensure unstable updates are set to yes....and probbaly want to set them back to "no" after doing the update [hurries off to do that as he himself forgot...]

Not necessarily, a unstable update simply means it may not have been tested fully prior to the image being built, worst case scenario would be the need to reflash the receiver but thats quite rare by my own experience.

I've just noted that you're on build 022, your best just to setup and flash fresh build 057, as we've had a server move and many changes with the feeds.

ah no way, I thought moving off Zeus onto apollo was a good move, is there no online fix for this like fixing the feed url's?

Afraid not, theres been many feed changes since build 024.

You maybe able to take a settings backup and restore them in 057.

Pretty sure build 32 and above required a fresh flash so no restore possible from backups taken from builds below 32.

You can restore your settings from backup with a fresh flash even if your currently on a build below 32.

@sledge121 have a read here http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?t=40486

Just done a fresh flash to 57 and yet again problems restoring settings and plugins. Every time I update I have the same problems.

The error message is usually 'background update check etc' How do I restore everything (plugins and settings) back as they were. I know I could send my channel settings via FTP but that should not be necessary.

Settings backup should restore ok, possibly the feeds were down when restoring plugins.

You can check the feeds status here by the colour of the update logo http://www.openvix.co.uk/

Any reason why we have a red "Update available" icon on our front panel LCD (GB Quad), yet when looking in Menu > System > Software Update > View Update there's nothing listed.

Same thing yesterday - I ran the update and the red icon went away, but tonight it's back!

OpenVIX 057.

Why? no feeds on that so wouldn't fix your issue.

Online update to build 058 available & should fix this minor issue.

Online update to build 058 available & should fix this minor issue.Although if it's like my MB Twin then 058 didn't show up on the Online Update menus, so I had to do:
init 4 && opkg update && opkg upgrade && init 6on the command line.

I'm with version 59 but if I go on the plugin section I get the message "warning, feeds might be unstable" and also "feeds down for maintenance" if I try un update. Yesterday night I did the update online without issue. Is it a temporary issue in the feeds or a problem on my image?
PS: I'm with ET9000 but I suppose should be related to this thread. Thanks

The feeds are down for maintenance - take a look at the build status on openvix.co.uk and you will see that the image is being updated atm.

On my solo2 (apollo047) it doesn't show updates above 054 (ie 057 and 058) Why? is there someting I should do in the setting?

Because they have shifted everything onto a new server/feeds. I would blue button, ViX and use Image manager to download the latest version.
