erro a background update check is in progress

hi, when ever i try to do a setting restore it hangs on 33% and gives me that message, then the box crash
and when ever i try to update software i get the same message, i tried every thing reboot.

any idea what to do?

Upload a crashlog? Found by default in /home/root/logs/
Check /etc/opkg/ for a ocram conf file & delete if it's there.
