Hi all a newbie here, I've come across a bloke on ebay selling the solo2.
But in his rather lengthy post he doesn't state if its a clone or genuine.

So i message him, and he stated that's its not a clone but a genuine receiver made with the genuine parts in the same factory as the originals but the only difference is they are not registered with VU so you don't get forum support from VU

So is this true what the guy is telling me ? i've googled this trying to find out more but come up a blank.

Post a question on the listings page asking if its genuine or a clone so others won't be duped into buying it :)

I've already talked to the guy about it thru the question box. but the question never appeared guess he must have deleted it or something ....

It's up to the seller whether or not he wants the Q and A's to be shown on the listing.

It's a clone. He's winding you up & should be reported to trading standards.

Just had a look at one on the bay. I don't know if it's the same one you looked at, but this one shows a picture of the front and rear of the box. it looks ok at the front, but on the back there is no fan grill. A very poor clone.

A picture on ebay would not be proof of anything anyway - they could be pictures of a genuine box or lifter from another website. Buying from a reputable dealer is the only way to do it.

The receiver on ebay is £199 that tells you all you need to know. Also if I was a genuine vu receiver, vu wouldn't wash their hands of it.
