Judging from reports on other forums it looks like Sky Italia SD channels are going the same way as their HD counterparts. I wonder how long it will be before Sly UK SD channels go the same way too.

Yes, I noticed some of the SD sports channels had gone a few days ago :(
Just out of interest, why would people be using Italia? Unless they are Italian of course!

And lots of it, dinner time hardcore lol
Oh really.
Wish I had Sky Italia :D
On a serious note lots of movies and sport which are broadcast in english so the audio can be changed via your receiver . Although a lot of the sports are foreign language and cannot be changed to english.

Apart from the obvious posted above, in the days of HD there were lots of channels which carried English audio. These included films, sports, documentaries etc. Some of the films were aired 1-2 weeks in advance of Sly UK too. Some of the SD channels carry English audio too but these are few and far between.

How many viewers do you think Italian services have? Large country, but also by many outside Italy.
The UK is not the world (any more)

Having done some research it depends if you're using a Chinese box or not.
So Chinese boxes work or don't work?
Lets remember to tread carefully here guys, our stance on piracy does not end with uk TV.
If it happens it happens, but only a few weeks ago people were reporting some Sky Italia HD were now back on.
so much for adding more shotgun cable and rewiring and end up with blank screen lol=tv powered off:D,if the worst comes vcr back into place and get to view those tapes of god knows what:confused::smash::smash:

What Android box you using.
Have XBMC on PC and Raspberry PI but my sis is looking for xmbc and I think android tv box would be better.
Is it wired or wireless or both.

Build yourself an openelec box for xbmc unless you really need android for something else.
P.s. Xbmc is to be no more, it will be replaced by "kodi".
Considered that but for these reasons looked at android box.
1 - less power consumption
2 - includes remote etc
3 - builtin user interface
4 - easier to show others to use
5 - Wont be used for any other tasks

these are not HD Audio.

These Do Rossi... S/PDIF Out...
S/PDIF isnt HD Audio
its just standard DTS or Dolby Digital
HD Audio is DTS Master Audio and Dolby Tru-HD, there are a couple others but these are the main ones.
Recently bought an Android MX tv box, superb piece of kit for the money, all the apps I need including XBMC fully loaded , Netflix, show box.

"DOLBY TrueHD and DTS HD : DOLBY TrueHD and DTS HD Bypass through HDMI"

Never had a problem used every day rock solid. Guess as with all things there are good and bad the minix I use could not be any better for stability.

Posts on other forums saying sky Italia sd hd working on starsat is via card sharing using something called a g cam. I don't know anymore than this, but that's what I read.. .

Just dropped by after retiring from the scene around 2 years ago. Good to see the debate is still hot. LOL. I must admit, things have lasted longer than I thought following the last refit of the NDS pairing techniques.
