Clone VU hard drive.

Hi.

I need the 1TB hard drive out of my VU and i want to put a much smaller one in it as i barly use more than 100 gig on the VU.

I would like to clone the VU drive to a wester digital 250 then swap them out.

Is this possible?

I've done it the other way around... i.e. cloned a 320gb to a 500gb hdd using symantec ghost corporate edition when I had the dm800. This was a long time ago though, so can't remember whether it worked successfully. I think it did though. So would imagine that as long as you don't have more on the hdd than the capacity of the disk it would work fine...

There's a version 12 of that available now. Dunno what difference is, as last time I needed it, I just stuck to 11, as there was no diff between 11 and 12 for what I needed :p

i will find the change log but 11 was updated to 11a then to 12 which is posted aswell

Also, just to clarify. I haven't used the ghost version used in the hiren boot disk before, I used the version I had at work, which was the corporate version. Think this is the home edition. So, hopefully it'll work, but can't say that I can confirm...

i use the ghost thats y i posted version 10.6 as ghost was removed in 11
