Just wondering, if Im not breaking any rules, a buddy of mine is showing the Nbc channels for the football in his bar. Can Sly sue the bar for showing these channels or is it just there own channels they have control over. Thanks

Yes he is breaking the rules as he shouldn't be able to have a subscription to nbc if he is UK based let alone be able to show 3pm matches. The whole iptv thing is dodgy anyway but it was always going to happen after Sky shutdown HD.

I agree but surely iptv is just streaming a channel

Clearly a matter of copyright law. Virtually all broadcast media Is protected by copyright and the owners of that copyright can sue to protect their interests or recoup lost revenue plus punitive damages.

Public exhibition breaches even further the owners interests if done without licence and exposes the exhibited to criminal prosecution beyond the bounds of a simple copyright claim.

Can be very expensive in legal costs , fines and damages.
