New to the forum and wanted to say hi...

I am also looking for a bit of advice.

I've been running a very cheap openbox V5S for a few weeks (after my sly HD box broke) and while the box is pretty terrible, it kind of works and does the job. But the EPG is just plain terrible. Looking at the ViX firmware the epg looks a good comprise away from sly....

This has started me researching into getting a better box around the £250 price range.

My main use will be for satellite viewing and recording, but I also have a HDX1000 media streamer and understand that many of the engima 2 boxes will also double up as a media streamer. This then leads me onto some of the extra apps like XBMC etc.

The two stand out boxes seem to be the VU+ solo2 or the Gigablue HD Quad Plus for my price range. Both are similar money from WOS and both can come with the ViX firmware...

but is there any real advantage for one over the other.

any advice gratefully received.

The plus has two slots for additional tuners.
