Sounds like something you have installed has corrupted, which would explain why the same happened after restoring the backup you made, Try a older backup if you have one or try a fresh flash and introduce the plugins you use one at a time.

Also it would help if for example you told us which ViX image and build number you were using as rite now we are just guessing and that helps no one.

Have you added any plugins to the image either via the feeds or manually ? and if so which ones ?.

The more info you can provide the better.

to be honest all i was doing was trying to watch a movie on tsmedia and a black screen came up and it reebooted

Without some form of debug log we would only be guessing as to the cause, I would say reflash without your corrupted backup and go from there, maybe leave out TSmedia this time ?. Sorry I cant be more helpful but TSmedia is not really a plugin I use.

Log Directory is Empty now sorry

Don't worry about it, but next time if you could include a log with the bug report it would help massively in the fault finding process.

TSmedia upgrade crashes my Vu+Duo. Version 7.2 in the plugin-list should be kept. Shoutcast crashes both Duo and Ultimo. I avoid installing it. There are probably more unstable plugins beyond the control of Vix-team.

yep ive decided no plugins now i think Vix should remove them all
after all its a satellite box

Not all plugins are necessarily bad, when properly maintained by their respective authors. That said it is a matter of balancing what you want with what you need and above all, remember it's a satellite receiver not a all singing and dancing media center (regardless of what some manufacturers may claim otherwise).

I could be wrong but that looks like it could possibly be a kernel panic issue ??.

What could cause the panic in this particular case? A faulty software or firmware?

I too have the exact same issue. I was in tsmedia and the same happened to me. I can only get to the loading screen. Sadly I haven't got a backup. .. only got the box which is a duo last week. It was brand new from the site and I haven't got the know how to get past this. Please help.

Reflash the image via a USB stick (Images and flashing tutorials are available from www.openvix.co.uk) and this time try without installing TSmedia.

Hi Sorry been at work all weekend so coudnt get on to post
Ok did a new flash no TS media or any extras
still getting long hangs even when i try to back up

Not sure if this might be hard ware issue and handshaking between HDMi ports?
