Hi All,

Now, everytime I import epg, either manually or at a set time, after about 10-20 mins my box crashes. I have just factory reset my box, entered new scan and new settings, then I imported epg and again it crashed
anyone got any ideas? as Im due my HDD in the next few days so not sure if I should reinstall image again, Im usung vix 1.2v

thanks
Johnny

dont use the crash log plugin that sends it to dmm

ftp into box go to /media/hdd and you will find it there. then post in on this thread

it seems your having a memory allocation issue so create a swap file on a usb stick.

swap file issues will be fixed in next update

get a blank USB Stick and plug it into your DUO back USB

Go to Menu, Setp, Vix, Device manager.

You will see your USB.

Then press Red [mountpoints]

and toggle it till it shows as being in /media/usb

green to save and blue to format

exit out restart box

again Menu, Setup, Vix, Swap Manager

Create a swap file start it and then

yellow button to autostart t every time you restart your box

Hi Silverfox

thanks for the help
just one thing before I follow your advice
when is the usb stick removed?
or do I now have to have a usb stick constantly attached to my box?

thanks for your time
Johnny

yes it stays in there then becomes extra storage.

the reason why we recommend using usb rather than hard drive for these issues is because usb has faster transfer time and less chance of crash

also on a side note you can use and is reommended to put if you are going to your picons in ysb and use the usb for your epg data

[very important note: when flashing your box with different firmware using front USB all rear usb devices must be removed for that process and then can go back in after flash]

lol use a sort usb cable extender and slide it to the side [the sort you get with wifi dongles]
