Hi All
Could someone please advise me . I have bought a Cloud ibox 3 and I'm finding the SD resolution on my old Samsung 1080i TV to be quite bad. am I being to picky or is this normal? would I get better resolution from a better box?
The box gives these

BBC News 720x576p25
Sky News 704x576p25

BBC HD 1920x1080p25
BBC SD 720x576p25

Thanks

Don't think there is any support on these forums for clones.

it depends on how much you are prepared to pay for a Decent (None Clone) Receiver the picture Quality on my LX3 & Duo2 Receivers are Superb in SD on vix Apollo 28
but they are over £300 each, but whatever receiver you where to buy that is Supported by vix you will get Help with it here on the site but NOT CLONES :)

this link will show you what Receivers are Supported http://www.world-of-satellite.com/enigma2/openvix/

Hi Mate thanks for your reply
Ok ..this box has VIX Apollo 26 on it ...I'm prepared to pay upto £200 so any suggestions ...do you reckon the numbers I posted in th OP are bad? would I get better resolutions with a better box costing around £200 .

so it already has Apollo26 installed, so I would presume that it can not be a Clone unless they have found a way round the protection as Clone boxes usually get Bricked with the New Apollo image
but not being familiar with the said box I do not really know so I will have to let someone with a bit more knowledge answer your question sorry for being a thicko :)

You are misunderstanding something. The resolutions you are quoting are the broadcast resolutions of the channels and are normal for SD and HD in the UK.
To obtain the best picture quality from the broadcasts your box and TV should be connected by HDMI cable. Connection via SCART or composite video is not HD.
I know nothing about your box or your TV but you should be using HDMI and 1080i (or 1080p if your box and TV support it). Some older TVs can't support 1080i or p and you may be restricted to 720p
Quality-wise, if you are using HDMI, it's down to the scalers in the box or TV. SD TV which is 720x576 has to be "upscaled" to 1920x1080 on a full HD TV. Either the box does that through its scaler (if you set 1080i fixed in the menu) or the TV scales it up. Try both and see which is better.
If you can't use HDMI, then component video (which requires three phono cables) runs a close second in HD resolutions, followed by SCART RGB and then SCART PAL or composite video in SD resolution.

Sorry but as already noted we don't provide support for clones here.
