Help needed please

Hi, I'm very new to this so please bear with me.
I had this model a few months ago and everything was fine until a couple of weeks ago. I can't watch anything at all without it freezing for a few second. it is in freeze frame as much as it isn't.
I know how to do the software update and crossepg donwloader and also update TS media but it makes no difference.
Whenever I go to do the software update it always says there is a new package even when I have just updated it.
Please help because it is really unwatchable and I can't seem to get any help from the people who installed it.

Which image are you using? Name and build number please.
Menu > Information > About.

Do all chanenls freeze or particular ones?

Perform a manual scan and report back with how many channels you get.
Menu> Setup> Service Searching > Automatic Scan

Depending on response, this will establish if there is an alignment/cabling/lnb issue.

Wow! This is taking forever!
Channels found so far = 3286 and it's only at 32%. It's 03:40 and I have work in the morning so I'll leave it running over night. Hopefully the results will still be up when I get up.

OK, so scan finished and found 9,888 channels.
I'm not sure how to find the info you are requiring but when I pressed the SAT button it highlights 28.2 Eutelsat 28A/ Astra 2A/2D/2E/2F - Services. All the programmes on here 'freeze'
Could you please explain how I find the dish setup settings?

do you have a fixed/single lnb dish or motorised setup.

You may have a misaligned dish/configuration issue.

Scan just 28.2 and report back with number of channels received.

Perform a manual scan as pictured.


Can you go to your tuner config an post a screenshot of the setup. Menu > Setup > service searching > tuner configuration

To take a screen shot, post the folloiwng in your web browser (changing IP address to match receiver)

Right click on the picture and save it.

To upload attachments to forum:
On bottom of screen click on Go Advanced > Manage Attachments.
In pop up that comes up, click add files and navigate to where you saved the screen shot.

Just a thought... In the adapter setting, do the Primary DNS and the IP address (current settings) need to be the same?
I put my router into a DMZ because I am a gamer and wondered if them being different has any effect.

You dont need an internet connection when using a legit card

I have no idea about that. It was set up by an aerial company and they attached an ethernet cable.

Do the free channels freeze too? (BBC 1, BBC News, ITV)

the news channels don't, but the others do, like the horror channel.

I think your dish is slightly out of alignment. What are your signal levels when on the horror channel?

I'm not having much luck. My laptop had to be mended. 2 new hard drives since I bought it 10 months ago. I am not a happy lady.
Anyway, I'm back now.
Can you tell me where I find the signal levels please? I have had a look round and so far not come across it.
I can't even stream or download movies now.
The guys who installed my TN don't respond to my calls and I'm getting very angry about it all.

What image version are you on?

The software database for images lower than Apollo 32 are no longer available. You must flash afres. Latest image (at time of typing) is Apollo 37.

It seems you are struggling with this. If you can bring your box and laptop to Congleton (chesh/derby border) I will happily set them up with all the software etc. Gratis - glad to help.

I really am struggling with this. I don't drive so I can't get to you.
I've transferred the update folder to USB, followed the instructions but it doesn't ask me to press OK on start up. it does however, say press CH.
I'll give it another go but I seem to be going around in circles.

Well, I have finally managed to do the update (LOVE the new image) but I'm now faced with a whole lot of things to set up lmao Please wish me luck because this is all new to me and I have no idea what i am doing. At least its finding channels lol

You will have to re-install TSmedia. The version on the plugin download menu may not be the latest working one.

It appears I am talking to the same people on two different websites.
Ok, so here goes...
1) My TM Nano OE was installed about 6 months ago by two satellite guys.
2) It wouldn't update recently so I have looked for advice on here as I have had problems trying to get hold of these guys.
3) I'm attempting to do this myself and have no idea what I am doing.
4) Today I flashed using the file I found on here and it didn't work so I went to the nightly download on another site. That worked better but a lot of my channels won't work, making my box just an expensive Freeview box.
5)I have no idea what this means:

I'm struggling big time and getting ready to take a hammer to it!!

To add to this, whenever I try to install something it takes forever and doesn't finnish installing. I get an error and the box reboots.

The receiver is a good one so don't put a hammer to it.

You may wish to report the satellite installers to your trading standards.

May I suggest you read the Vix manual or new box setup guide. It covers most things you need to know to get the most out of your receiver.

The rules here are stricter than the other forum.
