whats the best epg on vix

Hi all I have the vu+ solo2 on the vix image and wondered what was the best epg for it. Iv heard alot about cool tv guide

The ViX image has by default the single best EPG built rite into it already, and it runs rings around the horrible (in my opinion) CoolEPG plugin.

2 different things as rossi2000 points out.
EPG = Electronic Programme Guide
CrossEPG & many other sources = data used for EPG.

CoolTVguide all the way buddy.
Vix guide might look pretty, but coolTv allows you to customize the keymap to your liking to make it much more user friendly. Ie, channel up& down to page up and down, instead of 2&8 in vix. Re assign coloured buttons to different actions.
If vix added this function it would be better.

Cool TV is a closed source plugin that isn't fully compatible and doesn't really add anything useful.
Closed source plugins are not much liked by users of open source software. And besides: issues can't be fixed.

I have the vu+ solo2 on the vix image. I very happy with this and the EPG it provides. However I've only had the box for a few days so still battling with the staggering amount of settings the box has..! and wondered do I have to setup the CrossEPG to work in conjunction with the Vix EPG...?

Again misunderstandings.
Cross is about epg-data collecting.
ViX-EPG (and Cool) are about presentation of data.

I would even count Cool out.
Vix has some 4 different EPG-presentations embedded, iirc.
Press EPG=long and pick your choice.

No it doesn't, tried it, or I'm doing it wrong.
If it does help me out, how do I get ch+ & ch- to page up & down, and red button to bring up bouquets?

IIRC in menu you can change Button assignment.

MQB doesn't change button assignment within a function/plugin.

In this case I think there is nothing to change at all. All buttons in G-EPG are logical and consistent with the functions in other functionality.
Maybe just get used to the functions as they are. Same as when switching cars.
