both tuners seem to work independently, but when tuner A is recording tuner B goes blank, tuner config is set at both tuners on single sat, is this a software or hardware problem, anyone got any ideas

Does Tuner B have a direct feed from LNB?

thor1

Swap the feed from Tuner A and connect it to Tuner B.

Now run a Manual single satellite scan.

Menu > Setup > Service Searching > Manual Scan > Set tuner to Tuner B and set type of scan to 'Single Satellite'. You should find 960'ish channels. Test that and report back.

hi
did scan on tuner A found 970 channels exactly
did scan on tuner B found 0 channels
turned tuner A off it now found 970 channels
I am aware how these receivers work I have had Dreambox 8000 for over 4yrs, its looking more and more a hardware fault

Not the LX3 then.

Tuner B working fine you disabled A, I'd look at LNB/Feeds/F connectors/Coax etc....

If tuners where faulty they'd find zero channels full stop.

for testing purposes I am using same cable

so that will mean that you are also using the same LNB outlet so you should get the same result --Try the other lead and see what you get

if both tuners are selected tuner B does not work, if tuner A is turned off tuner B works

if both tuners are selected tuner B does not work, if tuner A is turned off tuner B works

Test the receiver connected to a different dish / LNB.

Also check your coax/f connectors.

Do you have both tuners set to simple/single/ 28.2E or is one of them set as loop through

thor1
01-09-14, 19:28
both tuners set to simple/single 28.2E. has said before tuner B will only work if tuner A is switched off, is it worth flashing to build 28 i am using 26

it's worth a try mate flash to 28 but try it without settings restore just to see if you can get the tuners set up properly as you can always restore your settings later
just a thought did you do a fresh install of 26 because restoring from Apollo 24 can give a lot of problems :)

I only got receiver on Thursday, it came with 26 on but would not let me access ftp and telnet so I reflashed and got them to work

Ok I understand now well I think it's worth doing a Fresh Flash to Apollo 28 but without settings restore then you can see how every thing is getting set up just to make sure

Dont waste your time flashing. Connect it to another dish / lnb as I've suggested. I've seen Sky dish LNB's cause issues like this when they start going wrong.

The build in satfinder should also help. See if High/Low/Hor/Vert show fine on both tuners.

I flashed recently 030 and noticed if I record, other tuner goes blank And can only view certain channels.

Did what nsw9154 suggested and it seemed to sort the issue out.

Still have same problem

What exactly are each of your tuner settings?
What exactly is your satellite dish setup and how is it wired/connected?

Simple, single, 28.2.
Fixed 4 lnb with two cables in back of box

Sorted it. seems to work on 2.3.0 soft am and not on other soft cams, will keep eye on it see but seems to sort out the issues

Hi John, I too had exactly the same problem with tuner B.
I run a Solo2 with Open atv 4.2, and CCamm 2.2.1, so I followed your advice and changed to version 2.3 and all seems to be working fine now.
So thanks to you John, and to all who contributed to this thread
