There is no native YouTube app in the ViX image, due to licensing restrictions.

Yes multi tuner recording is fully supported in ViX and always has been.

The USB flashing process is the same regardless of the image, with exception to the ViX "couch" flashing feature.

You can get a tutorial that shows you how to flash this and other ViX supported receivers by USB from our download site. Www.openvix.co.uk

Couch flashing basically allows you to download and reflash the image, directly from within the image manager with your remote control, without the need for a USB stick.

I don't know about the original MB image but in ViX you can download a selection of softcams from the images inbuilt plugin feeds, but you will have to provide your own configuration files for legal reasons.

Thanks Junior Admin.

Without going in too much detail.

How do plugins work in E2?

There are multiple ways to install plugins, the two most common are either via the Images own plugin feeds (menu> plugins> green button), or FTP your .ipk file to the /tmp/ directory on the receiver and use the installer (Blue button> ViX> Install local extension).

Actually I meant, how do they actually work at hardware and software level?

That depends on the plugin, but I am not a coder so can not go into great detail.

Ok.

Tried to flash the MB with the USB drive, which has been correctly formatted using FAT 32 method, but it simply goes in the boot stage.

What am I missing here?

Yes I did read and follow the tutorial.
Tried HP format tool, Windows, and Partition magic. No luck yet.

Any other flashing method like using tftp ethernet based method?

thanks

Which image do you have on the receiver rite now ? and I may be mistaken but there may be a bootloader update needed before flashing some of the newer images.

Then try to FTP the image to the backup location (/media/hdd/imagebackups/) on your receiver and use the Image manager to couch flash. (blue button> ViX> Image manager> Restore).

Are you actually getting the message on the box display "Press arrow up to upgrade now?" when powering on? Also just to be clear, it's the up arrow on the box you need to press, not the up arrow on the remote.

Can do for sure. But if this thing goes south, how do I rescue the same?

If you are not getting the press up arrow message to flash your USB stick is NOT being recognised or the file structure is wrong on the USB stick.

Can this be added in the OpenVix,

You can add a date in the VFD in Standby
If you edit with Linux editor skin.xml from skin you are using.
(/usr/share/enigma2/skin name )

<screen name="StandbySummary" position="0,0" size="132,64">
<widget source="global.CurrentTime" render="Label" position="0,0" size="132,64" font="Regular;30" halign="center" valign="center">
<convert type="ClockToText">Format:%H:%M:%S-%h.%d</convert>

ONLY This is to be changed %H:%M:%S-%h.%d (as above and you will get comething like this: 14:38 - April.10)

B-t-w, I got this from some other forum - Tks to Matrix10
PS: B-t-w, I think the above is for E2 VU+ but you can try with your DM-800

Thanks in advance.

The MB Twin certainly shows the date and time in standby already, don't know about the mini.

Hi fat-tony

The mini shows the date bud date is in dislpay and time half in display, 22-08-17:
In the OpenVix Image Apolo .o24 I can't change it like 17:46-22

Oke I solved the problem.
The StandbySummary Format settings are incorrect for my use.
With a XMLeditor I edit the file “skin_display’’.

<!-- standby -->
<screen name="StandbySummary" position="0,0" size="132,64">
<widget source="global.CurrentTime" render="Label" position="0,0" size="120,64" font="Regular;48" halign="center" valign="center">
<convert type="ClockToText">Format:%H:%M %d/%m</convert>

In the OpenVix Image the “ ClockToText’’ is different, day and month reads before the time
So after scrolling the date info remain in the display!
The settings above are correct after scrolling the time remains in the display.
It will be nice if OpenVix change this in a Image update for Miraclebox Premium.
