It would be best if you created your own thread for your own modified version of the skin as rite now this current thread is some thirteen pages long.

In fact I'll do it now my self so that users are not confused.

This mod overwrites some core ViX system files, not something I'd be comfortable with for most end users.

I gave it a try and liked it very much. The channel picon doesn't seem central though. I did resize my picons but didn't help. I had a job looking through the skin.xml to find how to adjust it. The wife started shouting she wanted to watch a programme, so I had to give up.

I wasn't fussed about having the weather on the skin, but that's down to personal choice. I'd also prefer snr showing in %.

Fan speed and temp worked well. Definitely a skin I'll keep an eye on, I almost kept it if it wasn't for the picon positioning. Finally, the Sky picon, I'd like the option to change it to FreeSat. Well done m8.:smiley_yup:

Thats at exactly how it is supposed to be, just extract the files from the data.tar using something like 7-zip then FTP those files to the receiver. But be aware that this skin mod is now very old and likely needs further work to be fully compatible with the latest images.

Yes .ipk files do go into the tmp folder but not all authors produce or know how to produce .ipk files. If you look in the data.tar file it should give you a indication of where the files go, I can't help any further as I am not near a receiver my self.

Thank you so much for your help and replies.. i really like the look of this theme.. and your probably right that its not compatible.

What would you recommend as a good skin... (been looking all day)

Thanks

Personally I only use the default ViX night HD skin on my boxes as it does every thing I need, but if you do want to try others, look in the plugin feeds, there is a good selection of skins from Rossi and others and they all look great as they are all built specifically for the ViX image and kept updated as much as possible.
