I am not the most unto date with this box

All is working well, but i feel i should update the box

I am running VIX image on my box

Going through the menus I see the following information

Last update 2013-10-16
Version 3
Kernel 3.3.8
Build 753
Drivers 2013-09-16

I tried to update via the box

The message I got was " feeds are down for maintenance "

I tried to look at new plugins and the message was the same "feeds are down for maintenance "

Any advice on wether to update or leave alone what works would be appreciated

thanks in advance

Completely up to you, but the online updates & plugin feeds wont be restored for such an old image.
IMO, ViX builds have improved massivly since & I would update.

Images and full instructions on how to flash the image can be found on www.openvix.co.uk (http://www.openvix.co.uk), there is also a ViX Manual there too, that may be helpful.

I got the tutorial and I am still struggling

I am using a mac, I took 2 different USB sticks

re formated to exfat

put on the download file apollo 24 in and out of the folder labeled solo2

turned off the box via switch, entered the USB stick and turned on the solo2

but it just keeps rebooting not updating

any ideas??

Flash drive must be fat32, not exfat.

I can not see a option to format to fat32 on my back format, program, so i shall google this.

thanks for the advice

I'm not sure if a 3.x build can use the image manager to couch flash Apollo build 024, but maybe worth a try.
Copy the compressed image to /media/hdd/imagebackups/
Then use blue button -> ViX -> Image Manager & blue button to restore the image.
