View Full Version : USB DVDRW setup on VTI 2.1?

Hi,

I've had my Duo since May, now running VTI 2.1, and haven't paid attention to any discussions about attaching a USB DVD as I already had a separate DVD player in use, which has unfortunately gone belly up this past weekend.

I connected my external DVDRW via USB, and while it is recognised in the Media Player, if I put in a DVD, nothing happens, and Media Player doesn't seem to see the disk.

"DVD" is too common or too short for a search term, so I didn't manage to locate anything about setting up the USB DVD during a search of the forum.

Is there a plugin or setting I need to install / enable?

Cheers

Hi
I do not have usb dvd but I remember to read earlier.Maybe I am wrong?

External DVD drive should have own power supply (or usb hub with external power supply.) to get it work.

In Your case?

Hi,

yes, it does have its own power supply. It works fine with a PC, and is recognised by the VU as a DVD Drive, but just doesn't "see" the DVD disc.

I was wondering it I needed to enable or initialise something to get it working first time, or should it happen automatically?
