FTP into the receiver and navigate to /etc/opkg/ then delete the ocram feeds, this will fix the issue with the feeds.

Several announcements have been made including via out twitter and facebook feeds, plus most users don't even bother reading the sticky threads.

The exact name is ocram-feed.conf but if you are on build 023 it wont be there as we have deleted it from the GIT specifically to fix this error.

You can telnet this command

rm -rf /etc/opkg/ocram-feed.conf

Thread renamed to Vix_Misc

No need to start from scratch. A bit of reading release threads might help you.

Hi just a question, the latest Apollo build 23 is this already with the latest drivers and new kernel?

cactikid

as no new backups were found not using 753 old firmware restore i have to start from scratch as i never got to finish doing a backup as i never finished setting up 22:D.
the more times you do it the quicker it gets done:thumbsup:

No, we are still beta testing the new kernel images and they have not yet been released, when or more appropriately if they do get released, we will announce it here and via our twitter and facebook feeds as normal.

Could not agree more, I rarely use backups with my receivers, except for testing. The rest of the time i prefer a fresh re-flash, which only takes around 10 minutes in total per receiver.

Your issue lies with the image version you are using, The feeds ViX 3.0 have been deleted as the image is now obsolete. To use the feeds again you will need to update to a newer image. Something preferably in the Apollo series.

If you go to www.openvix.co.uk and look in the guides and tutorials sections you can find a ViX manual and a full series of flashing guides. But please before you even consider updating, make a full image backup and settings backup.

Blue button > ViX > image manager
Blue button > ViX > backup manager.

Hello
it didn't work on my Venton HDX3, build 026.
Any other suggestion?
Thanks
That's not needed on build 026. The feeds are likely down at the moment while build 027 is being built although that's just a guess on my part as I am not near a receiver to check.

They are not down but have been set to unstable due to a discovered issue in Build 027, you can still use the feeds by enabling the allow unstable updates option.

I came on because I had the same problem. I was trying to scan for system updates but every time I was getting the sorry feeds are down, I saw on this thread something about deleting a file in /etc/opkg/ I deleted the ocram feeds and still came up with the same problem, I was a bit too eager and deleted everything in the opkg folder, luckily that fixed it. No idea what I deleted but it works now.

Even without the feeds you can still flash and setup the ViX Image. if you need cams they can be downloaded from www.openvix.co.uk (you must provide your own config files though), plus both CrossEPG and ABM dont need the feeds, so thats the main three things you need on a image sorted.

Even without the feeds you can still flash and setup the ViX Image. ...
That depends very much on your needs. I can't, as essential plugins are not available.

Larry-G

yes the feeds are back up and running, not really sure what caused the downtime as I was not involved in getting them back up but they are now so you should be good to go.

Sicilian

The feeds went down due to image building failure, GIT issues etc....

must have just came back on as I tried the plugins I also have the green light for update but I think I will do a Clean flash of 28 by USB without my backups from 26, as I have noticed a 10 to 15 second lag with the spinning vix sign when pressing the button when in the vix menu for the backup manager never noticed that before
