Why not use the EPG data that is on the stream instead of web based data?

I found that once the Freesat EIT data was enabled in the EPG (it is enabled by default in ViX), then all the Freesat channels EPG data was populated after a short period of time. If you are tuned to BBC1, for example, after about 20 mins the EPG data (7 days) is populated for nearly all FTA channels on 28.2. For weeks I did not use CrossEPG at all. Only needed it for the SKY channels.

Cross is good for Open-TV (the proprietary EPG data on 28.2E).
For Rytec import it's better to use the dedicated XMLTV-import (embedded in ViX).

To get 28.2E open tv epg data you need to be in an area of reception for the transponder that the epg data is on or else it will fail. This is commonplace in continental europe.
