Can anyone please help how to configure VU+ player so it can be used over the internet?

I have it setup so it works over my network but i would love to take use of the transcoding feature so i can use it when outside over the internet.

Cheers.

You need to configure your router (whatever firewall you have) to pass traffic to ports 443, 8001 and 80 to the player. You COULD do it without port 443 (https) by connecting to the WebIf through the http port 80, but I wouldn't recommend using http for sending usernames and passwords. Even when you use https to use the webif controls, ports 80 and 8001 are needed for streaming. I just tried this earlier this week with my VU+ Ultimo and found out these were the ports it needs.

How you exactly configure your router to direct these ports to your box probably depends on the router, and your router may have different configuration menus from my D-Link DIR-615.

Have you noticed when streaming the audio lip sync is out by several seconds.
