Satellite and Cable tuner running together?

Apologies in advance but this may be a silly question but am pretty new to all this...

With all the recent issues with HD channels going missing...would it be possible to run sat and cable tuners in parallel ? I have a Solo 2 and im sure I have an additional tuner slot.

Solo 2 has soldered tuners which you can only use for satellite.

You will have to use a USB tuner.

Do you have any pointers or instructions you can point me towards on how to set this up...and will it run in parallel to the sat tuner I have already set up?

Yes, providing you get a line from a cable supplier.

However, I think usb tuners are still relatively new so I don't know recordings will work as normal with both in-built satellite tuner and usb cable tuner.

This (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?39206-USB-sundtek-cable-tuner-scanning-problems) thread mentions something about problems with a USB tuner (I haven't read it so it may not be relevant to your needs/concerns).

You need to find out from someone with such a setup to see if there are any problems.
