I have a Gigablue Quad and have just added an additional tuner.

At the moment I subscribe to a Portuguese tv service and use the receiver supplied by them but want to take the card out of that receiver and use it in my GB Quad with the extra tuner I've just added.

When placing the card into the front card slot of the Quad the card is not being read so I guess I need to add some script somewhere to make it visible, but I'm not sure what or where so any help would be appreciated.

I'm using Oscam-Ymod 18.53 which works well with my UK tv channels so preferably would like to stick with that cam if that's what's needed.

Any advice please??!!

i think it could be nagra, in which case you'll need to do a bit of work to get the card working,

its not as simple as just putting the card in and reading it like slys.

Yes it is either Mediaguard3 or Nagravision3 for MEO but I thought as I have the genuine tv card it would just be a matter of getting a cam to read it when it's in the cardslot.

Any advice what to try would be appreciated.

if you are familiar with oscam try to read the card in there it might give you some details as to which encryption system your card is using, unless it says it on the actual card?

mediaguard might be possible im not sure, but nagra for sure needs alot of work doing.

Try with SCAM 3.60

ye once you got all the details required for it to run, its not just going to run in scam.

Just looked at the card and it's clearly marked as Nagravision.

It's been suggested to me that if I was using CCcam I could write a simple CCcam.cfg file and include the following lines the card should be readable

SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 6000000
BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 HEX NUMBER which is 8 letters/numbers

I got the 10 digit MEO box number from the engineers info and when it's converted to HEX it comes out as 9 characters instead of 8!!

Also as I don't use CCcam I'm wondering where to input those lines in Oscam-Ymod

if it was that simple everyone would do it.

OK well I've just tried switching cams and run CCcam with the info above in the cccam.cfg file which I ftp'd into the /etc folder using Filezilla. Restarted CCcam and nothing so that didn't work.

Anyone have any constructive suggestions please?

Have you set up a reader in the oscam.server file, google oscam.server meo there are examples to how to configure it

i told you already.

you will NOT get this card to do anything properly without getting the required information from the box itself.
its Nagra3.

but if this information isnt good enough for you i'll let you continue to waste your time trying different cams.

What information do I need to get from the MEO box then as I have it right here?

Ok well it's all sorted now. :):):):):smiley_yup:

For anyone else trying to access a valid tv card in their Quad, the card works perfectly in the card slot and I'm using Oscam-Ymod 18.53.

It just needed the following lines inserted into oscam.server:
[reader]
label = MEO
enable = 1
protocol = internal
device = /dev/sci0
services =
caid = 0100
detect = cd
mhz = 357
cardmhz = 357
ident = 0100:05211,05221,05225
group = 1
ecmcache = 1
lb_weight = 100

Might work for other cards too and maybe in other brands of receiver.

The card very clearly states Nagravision. MEO used to use seca before switching to Nagravision.

Many thanks to redrobin for the suggestion in post #12. I found some info and put some script in oscam.server - worked a treat!

caid 0100 is seca, maybe you will get a new nagra3 card soon then.
