Can we do a firmware update without losing channel list?

The firmware upgrade guide states: "Due to fact that new software don't contain any user data base (channel list), as last step you have to check antenna settings and search satellite or upgrade receiver with desired channel list." Doe this mean that my channel list will be erased if I do a firmware update? If yes, is there any way not to lose the channel list?

Also, what about recording timers? Are they erased when the firmware is upgraded?

Hi,
yes if you make a firmware upgrade you will loose all your settings. Yes there is a solution. Do a settings backup before you flash your STB then you can do a restore afterwards and all settings will be back.

when you use the built in backup of ViX then alle timer list are also saved and can be restored.
